What to discuss before selection

Ask about candidate criteria, examinations, each participant’s responsibilities, clinic communication and contract terms. The clinic makes medical decisions; the agency coordinates arrangements.

Understanding the costs

Request separate figures for agency services, medical procedures, participant payments and additional expenses such as travel and accommodation where needed. Agree on included services and payment terms before paying.

How to begin

Tell your coordinator you are looking for a surrogate for your program. Explain your current stage and questions. Do not send medical documents in your first message.

How arrangements progress

First conversation: we discuss your needs, your clinic and your starting point. Selection requirements: we clarify preferences and questions to confirm with your doctor. Candidate review: we discuss available information, introductions and examinations. Terms: we agree on services, the contract and the estimate. Further coordination covers arrangements within the agreed scope.

Questions about a candidate

Ask what candidate information is available, which details have been checked, who performs examinations and who decides eligibility. Age, pregnancy history and health are assessed by the clinic according to its requirements. Selecting a candidate does not automatically mean approval for a program.

Programs in another country

Before travel, agree on where stages take place, length of stay, transport and accommodation costs, clinic communication and document preparation. Participant and documentation requirements depend on the country; confirm them with the clinic and an appropriate legal professional before signing.

Timing and changes

Selection time varies with criteria, candidate availability and examinations. Ask what happens if another candidate is needed, dates change or the medical plan changes, which services the contract covers and which additional costs may arise.
